This all started when my friend lauren posted a picture of someone parking to close to where she cant get in on the driver side... now lauren and i have known each other for quite a a few years so i know her fairly well and she knows i joke around a lot.... i also know she helped out in the democratic party for awhile and is very in to politics... so i did what i normally do and i made a joke.... this one turned out pretty good even tho lauren never even responded

FaceBook Beta Testing Page

Would you like to know how to test the new options and features of facebook before your friends?
yes?....
Of course you would... thats the answer for just about everyone..

Here you will find the instructions on how to do just that.. but make sure you follow these instructions to the T.. otherwise you will not be able to get it and it wont work a second try (well you can try again in 2 weeks when it resets)....

First off i want you all to know thanks for stopping by to check my nifty instructions and i would like to explain some of the new features you will be testing

right now there are only 3 features being tested besides the boring programing stuff that happens behind the scenes...

1: the thing people seem to want the most is the wonderful DISLIKE button... yup thats it the button that will tell it all for you.... someone post something stupid like "someone kill me" you can just hit the dislike button.. unless your like me and probably would hit the like button...

2: a nifty rating system... rate pictures and posts the higher the rate the higher up your feed it goes... sadly it only last for like 5 days then it gets taken off the rate feed (not deleted just off of the rate feed)... sooo you could have the highest rate at like 9.5 and after 5 days the post will be taken down and a 7.2 might be the new winner but who knows... either way you access the rate feed from from your normal feed page up at the top where it would have most recent and top news... it will say top rated... the rating system is 1-10 (10 being best) and it is right next to the comment, like, dislike buttons

3: last and most entertaining to me.... Webcam chat!... its a little wonky right now has a bit o lag to it and some times cuts out and reconnects but its been getting better you can tell they are working on it... beside your normal chat bar is the "video chat" bar and it will bring up anyone currently on cam.... you can talk to multiple people at once but its still only one on one.. they are working on a chat room type deal for it...

now on to the instructions

first off you must be on the beta testing group page thing.. sooo if you havent already you need to go add that... it is here http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=342486147792&ref=nf

next you need to hit share and post a bulletin to get people to add the group page thing... they will be watching rather or not you do this.... if you dont do this step IT WONT WORK.... their servers are keeping track of who joins and who sends out.... people that dont send out dont get to be part of the beta program... the reason they do this is cause they want a lot of people to work on this to get feedback... a new page is made every series of beta testing and this time im the lucky schmo that gets the 10 mins of fame...

now this is the hard part.. i know i know you hate the hard parts... and you have to do this... you must wait ATLEAST 24 hours before you can skip on tio the next step and let me tell you why.... like i said before the servers keep track of all who do this and share the page.... well it takes a while to for the servers to count everyone up and see who has and who hasent... so right now write down the time and at this time tomorrow or after get back on and come back to this page and continue on to the next step... trust me its worth it.... remember if you dont give it atleast 24 hours it might not work... there is a chance it will work before then but it is safe fore sure at 24.... if you try it before then you might mess it up and you will have to wait 2 weeks to try again

ok now that you have waited we need to check a few things...

first make sure you are signed on facebook

now make sure everything is working right and its not having problems like it sometimes does... so message someone talk a bit feel free to post another bulletin about this again search for craig ferguson (the comedian/talkshow host)and become a fan.... ummm maybe play an app.. just makesure its running smooth so we dont have any problems... sadly a small hiccup in the system can fail this....

NEXT.... this is a number generator... it set to get a number that will be put in your address bar to let facebook know you are trying to access the beta section



don try and edit anything just hit generate then take the number you get and put it in this URL but place it where the XXXX is (delete just the 4 XXXX and put the number in its spot)

put that in your url hit enter and after that it should come back saying that it is updating your profile to beta testing profile and it will say it will take about 5 mins and that you should clear your cache and cookies then close your browser to avoid any browser problems (some times it will show the old stuff cause its saved in the browser)

open up your browser and surf the next for 5 mins and come back and whala! you have your beta page...

if this didnt work and you got an error or something then please skip down to the credits

here are a few pictures of how what it looks like... not a big change still simple and small.... its fun stuff.... this is by far my favorite beta test i have ever done.... i have quite a few friends already on it and they are getting a kick out of it too... you should see the cam stuff its a lot of fun... you can draw on it and stuff

Alpha testing new Qik.com for omnia i910

i showed Qik.com my review on their app i did awhile back and they wrote me yesterday and asked me to do some alpha testing for them. being asked to test anything makes any nerd happy cause we get to try stuff out before anyone else does, WOOT!... so i will show you part of the email they sent me (im excluding the download link and the email address)

so as you can see they havent been able to test it on the i910 which is probably why they asked me to do some testing.

so far from what i have seen it works fine with only a few couple minor problems that they will be able to fix without a doubt

new fatures:

• these are good to have since youtube has more options to do with videos than qik.com does such as editing and stuff...
• twitter is a great thing to have you like updating people on what your doing and if you catch a good moment the best way to spread that is on twitter

• as for facebook.... well facebook is lame and over rated, but its still good to have for you face book tards

• now i know it says for samsung omnia but i doubt that they would do that JUST for the omnia... if they did then awesome! the omnia is the shit!

New UI:

now the new user interface is nice and a lot of you omnia users are going to find it kind of familiar. its very finger friendly and it is mapped out similar to the omnia's camera interface (and other phones too im sure). take a look at these screen shots (they are taken with my digital camera since you cant use mymobiler when the camera is being accessed.

i would like to apologize in advance on the pictures that are rotated... they were all taken the same way and they all show up right on my computer but for some reason when uploading, google decides to rotate some so they arent horizontal and it wont let me edit them in the site for some reason either sooo this is going to have to do till i figure out whats wrong



from here you can see how to sign in and sign up so it doesnt all have to be done from the website



the picture on the left you can see that it detects what storage devices are on your phone and yo can choose which one you want to save to and you also have the geo tagging for the gps enabled phones

next is the resolutions you are able to record in with 6 to choose from



on the right you can see the sharing options

when i wrote them back i informed them about the problems i found (which i will leave out since they will be fixed) and i also suggested to them that they make use of the LED light so we can record in the dark like we would with our normal video recorder

Apps - EyePhoto , Nimbuzz, Pandora

so i have some new apps for you to read about and love... so instead of me dickin around with stupid things like speeder dogs and epic jedi squirrel battles, i will just get to the apps cause i know thats what you want more... then we will get to a hot chick... not sure who that will be yet

--==EyePhoto==--: great photo app for your phone for quick and easy access to your pics

EyePhoto comes to you from vito technology who has made a number of programs (eyephoto is all i have used).

this program is great for us omnia users since the media album program just sucks. it is very easy to use and very straight forward. it works in portrait and landscape perfectly with a finger friendly scroll. with this all of your albums with photos are right there no need to search threw all the folders on you phone to go to one album to the next.

all you do is load the app and then open it.. from there it searches your phone for all photos and then lists the name of the folder and how many pictures are in it. you then click on the folder and scroll threw till you find the picture you want then tap that pic and it will show you the picture. you have a few options with it like zooming, rotating, sending and deleting. you can open up the image and then scroll threw the pictures by flicking left o right with your finger.

all in all this is a great photo app viewer app and i suggest you give it a try if you use your phone for pictures allot like i do.



--==Nimbuzz==--: chat, call, and a bunch of other stuff

This has to be the best communication program i have used yet.... you can connect to 15 different chat programs like aim, yahoo, msn, skype, myspace and facebook. threw those you can chat, edit friends, send and receive files, and even call people with voip.

now i probably use like 7 of the chat communities they have listed but im sure there is some nerd out there that uses all of them. but still when it comes to programs for chat this one is the best i have used so far... i mean come on show me another that his file transfer and calling options... you can also load your phone's contact list in here that you can even back up on to the web for safe storage!

now i would post pictures of it in use but i dont want to have to edit out all my contact's names and stuff... but this is an awesome app and i highly recommend getting... best thing about it is thats a free app.. thats right all free... they wont charge you for a thing (your service might charge you for voip depending on your package)

so go pick this one up!


--==Pandora==--: do it yourself radio station (omnia users read note at end)

first off i would like to say when it comes to music on my phone this is my favorite app!

now i dont know if you have ever used the radio function on yahoo messenger, but you used to be able to make your own radio station, well this is similar.

all you need to do is type in an artist or a genre you really like and it will pull up that artist's music or music of the genre you selected... from there it will play songs of similar types of music. as you can see from the screen shots i have a marilyn manson station and marilyn manson played first, then its follwed by similar music types such as nine inch nails then korn and powerman5000

now 3 of those bands i like allot manson, NIN, and powerman... korn is alright..... now if it was a band i didnt like at all like disturbed i would hit the thumbs down icon and it would never play that song for me again. if i hit the thumbs up icon it will play that song more often. you can skip threw songs pause them and i believe you can even go back and listen to a song over again...

from the pics again you can see i have more than one station. i can make up to 100 stations and if i hit the quick mix option it will mix songs from all of my stations making my very own station of just music i like... i know awesome right?

it uses the music genome project to bring you the music of your liking and so far from all of my use, the project was a huge success. if your not sure your going to like it i suggest you go to the website and test it out on the web. yes on the web... this isnt JUST on your phone.. you can use it on any computer that supports flash. go sign up type in your favorite artist and give it a swing.

now the app and web use are completely free to use but they do have some like 10 sec advertisements every 5 or so songs but its still worth it... if you like it enough you can subscribe to pandora for i think 35$ and you will get no advertisements and some additional features.

all in all its a great app... i am even going to make use of the 3.5 input jack in the back of my cd player in my car once i drill in to the panel to run the jack down near my shifter just so i can use this app when i drive

This app hasnt be made specifically for the omnia yet but a version for another phone works just fine with some additional setup.

1. sign up on the web but dont bother with the phone part
2. go here and download the app its in post 7 (if you dont have an account there its free and ALL omnia users should be on this site)
3. install the app
4. befor you open the installed app go to your phone menu then settings then buttons... assing the "main menu hold" button to "input panel"
5. go open pandora
6. when it asks you to sign in with your name and password hold in the menu button on the side of your phone
7. the keyboard will pop up and you can now input your name and password
8. once logged in you can change the menu button back to what ever you had if you want

and wahla!you now have awesomeness!

yes that is the super cute and nerdishly sexy redhead girl from mythbusters..

kari did a few things on the show other than raising ratings. she built things, tested things, and even became the ginnie pig in a few episodes... mythbusters was a good show but she made it great. she even had a photo shoot in FHM for the june 2006th magazine which made every nerd blow his load. there isnt really much more i can say about her cause all she has done is been in mythbusters and some interviews.... so here i leave you with the pics!
