Qik app testing, phone product updates, and random crappins

Whats ups... so as some of you know i have been doing some alpha testing for a application called qik. i have found some bugs and also suggested some things and so far they have fixed and added what i have sent them. if you would like to read my previous post of the alpha testing click here.

so far the interface is still the same, but they added in 2 suggestions i made (im sure others may have too but i have no clue if there are other testers for the i910 let alone what they are saying).

the first thing i suggested was add a light feature so you can record in the dark... basicly when you click on the light bulb icon it turns on your flash LED light so you can use it as a flashlight while recording...

second i suggested they have it so you can let it work in background... this allows you to "close" out of the app and still let it upload your video-s while you do something else with the phone like a text message or play a game. all you do is hit the x and it has buttons that say return - background - exit.

all in all its coming out quite nicely and everyone at qik.com is doing an awesome job

im working with another company that has some unique phone products. here in a few weeks i should receive my first product from them an a little while after that i will have a new product for you all to look at and get... trust me this new item is way cool and at a good price so your gonna be tempted to get it... hell its just cool as shit so you should just set 20$ aside and buy it when i post it...

Alpha testing new Qik.com for omnia i910

i showed Qik.com my review on their app i did awhile back and they wrote me yesterday and asked me to do some alpha testing for them. being asked to test anything makes any nerd happy cause we get to try stuff out before anyone else does, WOOT!... so i will show you part of the email they sent me (im excluding the download link and the email address)

"Dear Adam, We invite you to participate in early alpha testing of our new WinMobile Touchscreen versions. It should work on Omnia SGH-i900 (not tested on SGH-i910), HTC Dual and Kaizer (not all modifications).

so as you can see they havent been able to test it on the i910 which is probably why they asked me to do some testing.

so far from what i have seen it works fine with only a few couple minor problems that they will be able to fix without a doubt

new fatures:

sharing on youtube, twitter, and facebook:

• these are good to have since youtube has more options to do with videos than qik.com does such as editing and stuff...
• twitter is a great thing to have you like updating people on what your doing and if you catch a good moment the best way to spread that is on twitter

• as for facebook.... well facebook is lame and over rated, but its still good to have for you face book tards

• now i know it says for samsung omnia but i doubt that they would do that JUST for the omnia... if they did then awesome! the omnia is the shit!

New UI:

now the new user interface is nice and a lot of you omnia users are going to find it kind of familiar. its very finger friendly and it is mapped out similar to the omnia's camera interface (and other phones too im sure). take a look at these screen shots (they are taken with my digital camera since you cant use mymobiler when the camera is being accessed.

i would like to apologize in advance on the pictures that are rotated... they were all taken the same way and they all show up right on my computer but for some reason when uploading, google decides to rotate some so they arent horizontal and it wont let me edit them in the site for some reason either sooo this is going to have to do till i figure out whats wrong



from here you can see how to sign in and sign up so it doesnt all have to be done from the website



the picture on the left you can see that it detects what storage devices are on your phone and yo can choose which one you want to save to and you also have the geo tagging for the gps enabled phones

next is the resolutions you are able to record in with 6 to choose from

when i wrote them back i informed them about the problems i found (which i will leave out since they will be fixed) and i also suggested to them that they make use of the LED light so we can record in the dark like we would with our normal video recorder

cool new app for smart phone users!

well i dont know how "new" it actually is but i just found out about it and the few people i asked about it had never heard of it either... so most likely you havent heard of it either! but if you have then you can go read another one of my posts....

so many of you already know that i have a samsung omnia i910. i am a technology freak, i love looking up new devices, gadgets , and recently apps for my phone. well i was going to write about the universe of star wars today but when i saw this app i decided it gets a post of its own...

ok ok i know your ready to read about the app and your telling me to stfu... so here we are

QIK: stream live video straight from your phone!

i know your saying its been done already with the webcam apps.. but this is different. you dont need to be near or connected to a computer for this. all you need is a broadband signal and it will stream it directly to their page and any page you have your flash video player embedded to. just like right now i am streaming live while i write this post!

now if your service includes a data plan you can stream straight from your phone anywhere you have service... and since i have verizon that is just about ANYWHERE. but if you dont have a data plan or you have bad service at the time you can stream live right over the wifi! yeah fuckin sweet i know.

not only can you stream live but even if you get cut off it will load the rest of your video later on when you get back in service. do you have any idea all the ways this could be used... lol no no not live porn you slut.... just think if they had this during 9/11... imagin all the extra footage that would have been taken just from phones. all streamed live straight to the Internet. have a friend that was to sick to go to a concert to see their favorite band? stream that shit right to them and show them how good of a friend you are. friends gonna do a good stunt or funny prank? getting probed by aliens? fuck yeah make that shit LIVE! so many more things will be seen on the spot since you will no long ever have to wait for the news van to get its slow humpty dumpty ass there....

it doesnt just stream your videos live, it also saves them to the site and if your not currently live it will show the last video recorded on your player.

there are quite a few options for this including different resolutions, qualities, private or public videos. but one of the best things about this is that you can have it directly upload to different network accounts such as twitter, blogger, youtube, and many more.

so all of you video crazy youtubers need to grab this awesome and totally cool app.. its very easy to use and most of the setup is done online... all you have to do is set up your stuff on the website and then do a video feed anywhere you want... trust me there will be alot more videos done by me soon so keep coming back to see me slowly take over the world!
